Wild birds of Ireland - Dipper (Juvenile)

Dipper - A small stocky brown bird with contrasting white throat and breast. Confined to fresh water habitats, it is usually seen perched on a rock in fast flowing streams and rivers. It hunts for aquatic insect larvae often walking completely submerged on the stream or river bed before returning to a favourite rock.
