Wild Animals of Ireland - Badger

Badger - One of Irelands larger mammals the Badger is a stocky low-set animal with distinctive white head and two vertical black strips. They are widespread throughout Ireland but rarely seen and spend long periods underground in their Sett. They are predominantly nocturnal but may be observed on early mornings or late evenings during the summer months. They are omnivorous, however the majority of their diet is made up of Earthworms.
