Wild Birds of Ireland - Willow Warbler

Willow Warbler - A small migratory bird of the warbler family that arrives in Ireland in March or April each year to breed, while wintering in sub-Saharan Africa. They are a vocal species with a distinctive song that can be heard particularly in spring and early summer. Willow Warblers prefer young, open, scrubby woodland with small trees and young plantations as habitat for nesting. They feed on small insects and spiders, fruit and berries.
