Wild Animals of Ireland - Otter feeding on Crab

Otter - The Otter is closely associated with water and may be found in healthy rivers, lakes and along our coast. They are expert swimmers and feed mostly on aquatic prey including fish, molluscs and crabs. Otters nest underground in holts and the young can be born anytime of year. Ireland remains a stronghold for the Otter but numers are declining.
